today (saturday) startd off at my girlfriends apartment with the worker guys tearing the bathroom out--she's exiled from there for the next week+ while they completely gut and replace it. Then we went to a 4 year-old's birthday party at the childrens museum, then we took the kids for haircuts, looked at a house we are thinking about buying if we can swing it, then we went to McDonalds (one of the playground ones) and then to the YMCA for family swim, then back to the gf's apartment to get her dog, who is living here with me while she is in apartment exile...yay

I am freaking tired! Kid's stuff wers ya out...

Tomorrow morning...we could go to church. Or the YMCA for yoga. But probably just clean and start getting this place ready to rent out--figuring on using the value of this place and rent to cover the mortage and taxes on the place we are looking at...then in the after noon my gf will come over and...well then something will happen i'm sure.

Welcome to Mac country  :good job:

thank you, Dude. actually, i've been on my BF's old Mac since july, when i got here. well, august when BT finally got their shit together to give us a landline. this one isn't new either (5 years old) but way faster than the old one.

well my wife bought a new ferret so i'm sure i will have to play with the little shit this weekend

ooooh. *massive ferret envy going on here* (we can't have any other pet, not while Peter's still w/us cause he was abused and has HUGE security issues).

good luck w/your house-hunting/buying CTC Command. (that's something i always thought was for grownups and still do--i'm too young to even think about it although i'm in a nation of homeowners but AFAIC, they're all too young, still)

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
