SUBB-AN
+ Simon Heyliger
(Birthday Bash!)

Dance.Here.Now. would like to invite you to an intimate evening of dark, deep, and sensual sounds provided by none other than Crosstown Rebel’s own Subb-an. The young and prolific British producer will make his triumphant headlining debut at Cielo to close out September following his busy summer tour throughout Europe. In the past few months, 25 year-old Ashique Subhan has seized the spotlight at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs, including Ibiza’s notorious DC-10 for its famed Circo Loco party. Even Resident Advisor’s #1 DJ of 2012 Seth Troxler has taken the young rebel under his wing as an apprentice and studio collaborator. With an extensive discography of releases on renowned labels such as Hot Creations, BPitch Control, and Culprit, we are anxiously awaiting the distinguished musical selection that Subb-an will incite through Cielo’s powerful Funktion One system on Thursday, September 26th. Opening set by NYC's own and birthday boy Simon Heyliger.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
