Writing Streak

Recommended Posts

I put my pen to the paper
My subconscious takes over
Not sure where it comes from
Must be about some ex-lover

The songs seem to write themselves
Materializing from thin air
They keep piling up on my desk
Here lately I've been on a tear

I'm on Writing Streak
They're coming fast and furious
Not sure all of them make sense
Maybe a few do

Writing Streak
What I need is a publisher
Someone to get me some cuts
Is that someone you?

My catalog's 500 songs
Wrote my first one at 18
There in algebra class
The teacher never called on me

I moved to Nashville at 29
Put out some records, all were flops
They didn't sell, gave them away
Don't give a damn, I'll never stop

I'm on a Writing Streak
They're coming fast and furious
Not sure all of them make sense
Maybe a few do

Writing Streak
What I need is a publisher
Someone to get me some cuts
Is that someone you?

I'm on a Writing Streak
Writing songs for nerds and geeks

Chorus

Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
