Franz Ferdinand: "Can't Stop Feeling (Demo)"

I shunned their advances as long I could. Friends and family warned me about the dangers of Franz Ferdinand's unspeakable hedonistic delights, and convinced me I could make due with that nice Adam Ant. But then I found myself singing "Darts of Pleasure" time and again, and realized that substitution was not an option. Within a week I'd purchased their album, and to my great satisfaction, the innuendos spilling from their mouths was too much to resist.

However. If we expect this torrid affair to ever blossom into a relationship, we are going to have to grow as individuals. "Can't Stop Feeling", the fresh-leaked demo from Franz Ferdinand's as-yet-untitled second album, indicates that Franz aren't ready for change. All of the characteristics that initially won me over are here-- crisp dance beats, sultry vocals, Spaghetti Western-cum-new-wave guitar refrains. For a moment I believed that Franz might be growing up, what with all the "feeling" references-- but then, this narrative takes place on a dancefloor. Certainly, it's all too soon to judge what the future holds, but they must know that passion alone cannot sustain us. [Joel Ebner; September 28th, 2004]

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
