Angry Man

Recommended Posts

I hated school, never opened my mouth
Breaking out windows and prone to kick chairs
My teachers were fools, they didn't understand
They only wanted me to cut my hair

I hated Lyndon Johnson, glad when he died
That bastard tried to send me to Nam
I never even knew what Communism was
My mother told me to just stay calm

I was an angry young man
Then I was an angry middle-age man
Now I'm an angry old man
Angry Man, Angry Man

I didn't wanna work, I wanted to be rich
Throwing temper tantrums like a mad psycho
My mother-in-law was a horrible hag
My wife told me just go with the flow

I freaked out when divorce papers came
Laid on the phone like a screaming banchee
Her lawyer's suit threw me into a rage
I hated that dude for questioning me

I was an angry young man
Then I was an angry middle-age man
Now I'm an angry old man
Angry Man, Angry Man

I hate rap music and those who make it
I can't get young girls, they call me grandpa
I oppose gay marriage, I just can't take it
I hate the police and love kicking dogs

Mad at the world for rejecting me
I sit in traffic and cuss a blue streak
Angry at God, don't wanna go to hell
The future's getting shorter even as I speak

I was an angry young man
Then I was an angry middle-age man
Now I'm an angry old man
Angry Man, Angry Man

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
