I guess I'm not much of an 80's guy, although that was where all of my teen years were spent. I only looked at 91-100 and then 1-10. Out of these, maybe 2 stuck out, of which only 1 I own. Not really enough to base an opinion on. Mainstream in that day was not my thing. I don't think it was until the late 80's/early 90's that I really started geting into music. Also, being mostly into metal, I'm sure that disqualifies me for most of the Top 100 lists.

I read all of them and I have to say that it's an excellent list. A lot of thought went in it.

Kudos to them

Yep - it was better than Pitchfork's

Only two?

::sighs heavily and plays "A Kind Of Magic"::

;)

I mentioned those 2 cause they brought to the mainstream audiences a new kind of sound called rap. I would say, NWA should be mentioned too. They only put Public Enemy. All other genres are mentioned

he got it right on a couple of them...the cure, bowie, janes addiction.....well written but a bit pretentious and some of his choices are very esoteric......the 80`s and no metal/rock albums except guns & roses????...you must be joking.... <_>

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
