I say good sir, what's the deal with these little warning boxes beside each person's own name?

Is it a feature to allow you to give people an indication about their behavior so they are surprised if the worst happens? If that's the case, it's a pretty handy feature.

is it a matter of reaching a certain number of posts or the content of same which'll make them go away? cause i have a problem w/their aesthetic, as well as being a controlfreak i'd wanna do away w/them myself.

All the members have them. I explained this to you over your 4th cup of coffee last evening--remember?? :) The purpose is so if you feel harassed, you can let people know.

I think the only thing I can do about it is hide it from yourself. I can completely take the warning system out, but whenever the need arises it can be used instead of some kind of ban... :D

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
