'A Good Day To Die Hard' Will Be Rated R, Like God Intended

Slapping a PG-13 rating onto what's supposed to be one hell of an action-packed ride is never good news—especially for "Die Hard" fans. But rest assured, it's been announced that the latest installment in the John McClane series will, in fact, be an R-rated affair.

[url="http://collider.com/die-hard-5-rated-r/223597/"]Collider[/url] broke the good news, confirming that McClane (Bruce Willis) and his son, Jack (Jai Courtney) will be able to shoot 'em up—in this case, it'll be Russian terrorists—and swear to their hearts' content in "A Good Day to Die Hard." While we don't have exact details as to why the film received its 17-and-up rating, [url="http://www.aintitcool.com/node/60309"]Aint It Cool News[/url] did report that "the violence" was what did it for the MPAA.



Since the first three films in the series—"Die Hard" (1988), "Die Hard 2" (1990) and "Die Hard With a Vengeance" (1995)—also had R-ratings, fans got accustomed to McClane's penchant for swear-ridden one-liners ("Yipee-kee-yay..." anyone?). After all, he is a New York cop, no? But it was Len Wiseman's "Live Free and Die Hard" (2007) that got the "Parents Strongly Cautioned" warning, leaving fans to wonder if the forthcoming installment would get the same unfortunate label.
