Satisfied

This is a traditional country song I had from the 70s. I dug it out in 1997 and recorded it with a girl named Rachel from Louisville. Rachel's inner circle thought she was the next Patty Loveless. That never happened, but Rachel is happily married today with two kids.

I returned to Nashville and started writing Shania Twain influenced songs. I got rid of my bed and threw my mattress on the floor. I put a Shania poster on my wall. I thought if I am going to be a songwriter, I will live the hippie life.

You've given me a home
You've done it all for me
Made heaven here on earth
In Nashville, Tennessee

Everytime you give your love
I'm so happy I could cry
I want you to know
You keep me Satisfied

You're working for our child
I respect you for that
Growing old together
That's where it's at

Everytime you come to me
I feel so warm inside
I want you to know
You keep me Satisfied

As we celebrate
Each anniversary
I'll be your perfect mate
If this country girl can be

Cos everytime you give your love
The joy can't be denied
I want you to know
You keep me Satisfied

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
