Linux-Mandrake is a friendly Linux Operating System which specializes in ease-of-use for both the home/office and servers. It is freely available in many languages throughout the world. Linux Mandrake is a complete pre-configured graphical Linux operating system. It's easy to install, easy to use and stable. Inside Linux-Mandrake, the graphical interfaces KDE, Gnome, AfterStep, Window Maker, IceWM etc. are fully integrated inside a very modern distribution, fully compatible with Red Hat applications (RPM packages). You don't have to spend hours to get all those graphical interfaces to work: once Linux-Mandrake is installed, everything works.

I tried Mandrake ver. 8 a couple of years ago... it was fairly user friendly and really easy to install then, so I imagine it could only be even easier now. :)

I find Suse easier than mandrake

In what way?

I'm just curious because after a long wait, i'm finally going to give Linux a try.

I'm getting a new motherboard/processor/RAM for my current Windows installation, and i'm going to stick my existing motherboard/processor/RAM into another system, of which I will install Linux.

it's more user friendly and the control panel is way easier but those two are the easiest linux you will find so either one would do

all you need to do is choose ''burn CD from iso file'' in your burner program then point it at the relevant iso file on your hard drive.

dunno about the disks.... but you probably need all 3

 you need to create a copmpletely separate partition just for Linux... install into that partition and set up LILO for dual boot.... as far as I remember it asks you to do that during the install.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
