this is an album sony put out in 2001, it could probably use some tweaking but overall a good list, welcome any comments on what you would add or subtract.

a lot of great tracks there but not my favorite tune...

B.B.King - Thrill Is Gone

e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t!

I feel so inadequate when I completely agree with hairball77.....

For many of us 60's whiteboy teens, B.B. King's song The Thrill Is Gone was our introduction to the blues. Today I have hundreds of blues albums by many blues artists, but every single time I hear that song still I get a tingle down my spine.

I have to agree I like the "thrill is gone " better too, but then again that was his most played, the last few years I have been listening to alot of blues, learning about alot about the generation of blues players and songs that I heard when they were covered by rock bands, it's led me back to collecting some great stuff, if anyone is interested let me know, send a message, via e-mail or slsk, I can share, most of the albums I've posted about are there, plus some that are live that really capture the essence of alot of these artists and bands. I'm on vacation from work this week so I'll be burning, most of it will come off by the end of next week.

  • 1 month later...

Des's post has a lot of good blues rock tracks. Off the top of my head, I would add the following cuts to this school from Cream's Wheels of Fire

1. Crossroads

2. Spoonful

3. Traintime

-Al Kooper and Mike Bloomsfields Super Sessions...

Hendrix (Hear My Train a Comin', Red House)

***

But when I think of the blues, I think of the Chicago Groups, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, etc, and not blues rock.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
