The Traveling Wilburys

Inspired by the Tom Petty thread, I have decided to dedicate one to the Traveling Wilburys.

For those who do not know who they are, you're missing out. But you probably heard at least a couple tunes like Handle Me With Care, End of the Line, or Tweeter and the Monkeyman.

Consisting of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison and Roy Orbison, they have never played a live show together as the Traveling Wilburys.

I like them too... they have a great sound that blends all the individual traits exceptionally well. It's a shame they never did any live shows but since a couple are r.i.p. it'll never happen with that line up.

I too would recommend giving them a listen.

nice post Crazy Diamond :good job:

I thought the Traveling Wilburys was a great line up too. A great bunch of musicians. And it is a shame they didn't do any live shows, that would have been a great show!!

TTFN :)

I adore them!

I love the way it confuses you. You recognize a typical Dylan melody and then you hear the voice of Harisson, and things like that.

These kind of groups (nothing hillbillies as well) get a change to make the music they really like themeselves, and you can hear they enjoy that.

The cinism: WHERE WERE YOU LAST NIGHT......

Hilarious!

:groovin:

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
