Test your Pop-up stopper

Mozilla 1.6 tested A-OK on the first two multi-popup tests (which makes sense, because I have the block pop-up option on with some exceptions).

Although I do wonder sometimes, as

http://www.packetnews.com can get popups to occur anyway (and no, it's not on the exception list for blocked pop-ups).

I now know why. The popups only occur when you click a link on the page. Because clicking the link on the page is technically a "requested" action, what PN does is have a click event that loads an ad page when the link to the content is clicked. So, you get the content, and also an ad pops up. That's dirty pool.

You can beat it though, by right-clicking the link, and loading into a separate page or tab. No ad pops up.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
