CURE & RAMONES

I was so going to mention the Cure, but I couldn't remember what year they started and I was too lazy to go and look it up.

Good mention of the Ramones. I forgot all about them.

sorry to get technical but if we're talking about bands that started in the 80's then ramones wouldnt be one of them. they started out in the 70's.

and by started i dont mean got together to practice in some guys garage, but actually released a studio album.

now that i think about the cure released their full lengh in 79

Dokken..... with ace guitarist and rock stylist George Lynch....a huge L.A based metal/rock stadium band in the 80`s...their albums sold millions (and still do) and their concerts were sell outs.....one of my favourite bands..... :)

The 80's wasn't that big of a deal for me, too much "hair band" going on.......but their were some great bands keeping rock alive.

The Scorpions

Accept

AC/DC

Guns 'N' Roses

and more..........I'd rather have the 70's.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
