NEW YORK, June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- With the smash single "Something Special" racing up the urban charts, the Temptations' just-released LEGACY promises to be the legendary act's biggest hit since their heyday in the sixties.

"Our LEGACY is stronger than ever," says Otis Williams, the group's founder. "Thanks to a powerful new lineup and a powerful selection of songs, we're on top of the game."

In addition to Williams and long-time members Ron Tyson and Terry Weeks, the Temps include G.C. Cameron, former lead singer of the Spinners, and Joe Herndon.

This Motown band was huge in the sixties. Tons of top ten hits including Aint Too Proud to Beg, which was covered by the Stones. (One of the members also used to tour with the Stones in the seventies) Here's part of the lineup of the talent that was involved with the Temptations, outside of Berry Gordy, the Motown record label entrepreneur and producer: "Go back to our beginning," says Otis, "and you'll see that we were dominated by larger-than-life personalities-David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams. Then larger-than-life producers-Smokey, Holland Dozier Holland, Norman Whitfield. All geniuses.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
