The Lakers, who won for the ninth time in nine playoff games at the Staples Center, will await the winner of Eastern Conference final between Detroit and Indiana. The finals will begin on Sunday. Who will take the ring?

as i'm watching the eastern conference finals right now... the eastern conference just doesn't have the energy to win.

I pick the LA Lakers to win in 5 games over the eastern conference championship. I only pick them to lose one game, because, they will get cocky and beat themselves but pick it up the next game.

Stupid Lakers. I don't care anymore... the T-Wolves are out. Damn Cassell and his damn injuries.

I don't want the Lakers to win. That's about it.

I'll second everything spud said.

My damn team left in the first round. :(

Okay, as Bombardier reported, Detroit took the first game easily, but the Lakers have taken a convincingly lead in the second game, 39-32 at the second quarter and look in complete control. I spoke too soon, a loose ball and 3 pt'er by Detroit and its a little closer than I thought.

We are into overtime. The Pistons were leading 89-85, but Shaq hit a free throw after being fouled, and Kobe hit a 3 pointer from 40+ feet out to tie in with ten seconds left.

This one falls under the "wake-up call" category for the Lakers.

Id say they looked wide awake with a minute and half to go and 8 down. Then they dominated. Kobe looked as good as Michael Jordan in this clutch moment..

Well, it looks like the Lakers beat themselves in the first game... earlier than I would've thought but nonetheless, they will win the rest. I still hold my LA in 5 games prediction.

The next three games give the Pistons the home court advantage.

I wouldn't think that the Pistons have come this far to just roll over and die (espcially at at home in front of thousands of Detroit fans).

Nope, I think the Pistons will make the Lakers take it to game 7.

Nah, there is no way they'll cough up all three games at home. They were damn close to being two games up after tonight, a position nobody has ever came back from.

Detroit will hold their own for a while at least.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
