Less than a year after the release of his No.1 LP, R.E.D. Album, Game is ready to drop yet another mixtape titled California Republic. In anticipation of the project's April 5 debut Game released his latest track called "Skate On" with a feature from Lupe Fiasco, following "Bills is Paid" with Nipsey Hussle, which dropped earlier this week.

"Skate On" is composed by super producer Pharell Williams. Throughout the track the L.A. MC recalls his past mistakes and new growth. "Now, I been rapping for nine years, four months, 45, 46, 47 seconds/ I was Dr. Dre's weapon/ Had the option to stay and kept swerving/ Made some rookie mistakes, but so did Kyrie Irving,' Game spits on the record. He also references his fellow MCs in the track stating "This year, I'm getting my cash right/ Thirty years old, let Drake and Soulja Boy live the fast life."

The Compton native also recently released another track titled “Bills Is Paid." Game hooks up with rising star Nipsey Hussle for this record, which is also off his upcoming mixtape California Republic. The two rappers speak about the dark things they witnessed growing up in Compton, and all the people they lost along the way.

Game doesn't want to nail down a release date for his upcoming F.I.V.E. album. The MC endured multiple push-backs before his 2011 The R.E.D. Album and that has him understandably hesitant about publicizing a specific time frame. However, the "Hate It or Love It" rapper has only one more album left on his current contract with Interscope. Leaving him a free agent after he delivers the F.I.V.E Album.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
