Nicki Minaj's sophomore LP Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded debuted this week and all eyes are on the YMCMB rapper-turned-pop star to see how her sales compare to her late 2010 debut Pink Friday. Before the album dropped sales projections were as high as 600K, but right now it's looking like Roman Reloaded might max out at 250K copies

Still, according to Billboard magazine Nicki's heavily hyped, polarizing second album?, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, will follow in the footsteps of her 2010 debut and hit #1 on the album charts.

Industry sources speculate that Roman will sell between 200,000 and 250,000 copies by the reporting week's end on Sunday. That would give Nicki her first #1 debut. Pink Friday landed at #2 when it hit the charts in December 2010 with sales of 375,000, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.

The album finally took the #1 slot two months later thanks to the crossover success of the "Super Bass" single.

Though Minaj broke Roman up into two distinct halves, with the first suite of songs aimed at her loyal hip-hop fans and the second half focused on more pop and dance-oriented tracks, so far the jury is still out? on how the mix works. Many critics have been harsh?, and some of her Barbz and Kenz have offered up opinions ranging from raves to vicious slams, worrying that their beloved Harajuku Barbie is trying to be someone she's not. • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
