Only Kanye West can steal Kanye West’s thunder. With fans already in a frenzy looking forward for the Good Friday release of Yeezy’s new G.O.O.D. Music single, DJ Funk Master Flex dropped an unexpected bomb in the form of Ye and DJ Khaled's “Theraflu."

Kanye West And G.O.O.D. Music Release 'Mercy' Art

It isn’t “Mercy,” the Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz single that fans were expecting from Kanye, but the leak is appreciated all the same. If the opening of the Hit-Boy produced “Theraflu” sounds familiar to some that’s because ’Ye borrows a lyric from Ma$e’s “Lookin’ At Me” for its first bar. “Can’t a young n---a get money any more/ Tell PETA  my mink is draggin’ on the floor,” he spits to set things off.

As dope as the first verse is, Kanye saves his most impressive bars for the second go ‘round when he admits to falling in love with Kim Kardashian, addresses his ex-flame Amber Rose again and even name drops her fiancé Wiz Khalifa with four simple lines: “The whole industry wanna f--k ya old chick/ Only n---a I got respect for is Wiz/ And I’ll admit I fell in love with Kim/ Around the same time she had fell in love with him.”

2 Chainz Has Been Recording Music With Kanye West

Yeezy then went on to throw subliminal shade toward New Jersey Nets star and Kim’s ex-husband Kris Humphries. “Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team,” Kanye rapped.

It isn’t all tabloid fodder, Yeezy continued to drop witty lines like, “Bitchass n---as got ass and breasts” in an overall spirited lyrical performance.

The song does feature DJ Khaled and DJ Pharris, but Hit-Boy confirmed on his Twitter account that it is in fact a Kanye West song. As of now it is unclear if the track will end up on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation or an upcoming ’Ye solo LP.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
