Whitney Houston was found dead in a Beverly Hills hotel room on February 11, and since her tragic death members of the Houston family--including daughter Bobbi Kristina, brother Gary Houston and sister-in-law Patricia Houston--have all spoken out about their loss. Whitney's mother, Cissy Houston, has been noticeably quiet about her daughter's death but she will finally open up in a pre-taped interview with New Jersey's MY9 news station, set to air on Monday April 2.

The interview was taped at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ, where Houston was buried in an invite-only ceremony in TK. "I have my moments," Cissy tells My9, of dealing with the grief of her daughter's death. "I'm not there yet. I don't think I'm any more courageous than anyone else. I am a true believer in God, if I could bring her back I would, but that's not possible."

"I'm very proud of my daughter," Cissy added, brushing off the tabloid fodder surrounding Whitney's death. "She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here ... she was a very wonderful person. My children are my whole life. She was very special to me ... she was my only daughter, and a good one. Looked out for her family."

Cocaine Found In Whitney Houston's Room At Time Of Death

"I know I did the best I could," she responds, when questioned about the effort she put into helping Whitney battle with drugs. "I don't blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything."

The L.A. County coroner revealed that accidental drowning was the official cause of Houston's death, adding that cocaine use and heart disease were also contributing factors. According to the report, traces of cocaine were found in Houston's system at the time of death along with Xanax, Flexeril, marijuana and Benadryl, which officials said played no role in her death.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
