Although Rihanna doesn’t actually appear on the newly released "Hunger Game" soundtrack, a song writing pair has found a way to attach the pop star to the "Hunger Games" craze after all. Tom Vader, a North Carolina musician and Matthew Sullivan, a New York-based writer have created a viral video, using clips from "The Hunger Games" trailer paired with the electronic beats of Rihanna's hit "We Found Love.”

The duo remixed the original words based upon the relationship between Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in the Suzanne Collins novel. "Girl on fire in the light/ Now we're standing side by side/ As your arrow flashes by/ What it takes to stay alive,” the chorus plays.

In a recent interview Sullivan told reporters that he wanted to link the song's success to The Hunger Games madness. "We thought since Calvin Harris and Rihanna's song works so well in the club, why not bring it to the Arena?" Sullivan told reporters. "We thought it'd be interesting to approach the song from Peeta's perspective—because he's the more romantic one at first. Plus, Katniss's lullabies to Prim and Rue really can't be topped, even by the best remix."

In non Hunger Games-related news, Rihanna recently wrapped the filming of Coldplay’s new video “Princess of China.” RiRi channeled the Good Geisha Gone Bad look, which she described as "Gangsta Goth Geisha."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
