freddy and the dreamers

gerry and the pacemakers

billy j kramer and the dakota,s

wayne fontana and the mindbenders

I remember these guys (wayne fontana and the mindbenders) having one good hit in the states. But the others were way too pop for me.

Hey Dutch, were you a Motwn fan? We could do a whole thread on Martha and the Vandellas, The Supremes, etc...

Or an English rock fan? Then we could do the Yarkbirds, the Kinks, etc.

I was born into a family that was bent on music, I remember hearing "Go Now" and alot of other things, I am still in love with Dire Straits, some of the best music I have ever heard, Telegraph Road(Dire Straits) is one of my all time favorites :D

What about the music of The Youngbloods? "Get Together" was their best tune and hearing it gives me a thrill. Any other tracks of theirs worth checking out? I no longer have their album, alas, due to a burglary years ago. :(

One of the top singles of all time. After the Youngbloods, Jessie Colin Young made a lot of fine albums...but you will have to ask Kooperman which one was best...

Just saw this post, and only a couple of months tardy in responding.... :(

Go for Jesse Colin Young's album Light Shine. I wore out the grooves on my vinyl copy listening to the California Suite, trying to replicate the guitar line....with only moderate success.

I have not been around lately,I am new and I have some things to say about the 60's. I lived em. Some of the best acts went away and was never heard from again.

Like frigid pink, moby grape, vinella fudge, and others as well. The who stood the test of time,we are forced to pay 75 to 150.00 a pop to see these ageing hippie throwbacks like the eagles coming to phoenix i october,BULL SHIT, who cares any more? Do youoryouoryou..........Moqui

WHAT DO YOU THINK......................

I dont see anything wrong with what you wrote--Clear Channel and the other rip off vendors can kiss my ass. On the other hand, if people want to pay those prices, and they have a good time, then who are we to judge. There are worse things to spend money on than music.

Feel free to speak your mind here, Moqui. The only real rule we really have is not to ridicule others on the site...

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
