Nicki Minaj has definitely become the voice of a new hip-hop generation, so it’s no wonder Pepsi is taping her to become the face of their new beverage, “Pop.” Now with a multimillion dollar partnership between Pepsi and team Minaj, the Harajuku Barbie will now be promoting a new beverage due out later this year according to Forbes.

“You’ll see the commercial probably in the next two months,” Derek Jackson, the agent who brokered the agreement told Forbes reporter Zack O’Malley Greenburg. “That’ll be a segue into a new beverage Pepsi has, called ‘Pop,’ and she’ll be the face of the brand … it’s going to be explosive.”

In January, actual footage from the commercial shoot surfaced on YouTube. The leaked footage showed Nicki performing her hit “Moment 4 Life” in front of a small Argentinean crowd.

The female Weezy isn’t the only one with a new pepsi deal, her mentor Lil Wayne also inked a major deal with the brand. Weezy debut his “DEWEEZY” campaign with Pepsi’s Mountain Dew earlier last week at the SXSW festival. Wayne’s deal also presents an option for the MC to create an original film which will also be financed by the brand.

Nicki’s sophomore LP Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded is scheduled to be released on April 3. On Friday, Nicki released the tracklist for the album and revealed collaborations with Chris Brown, Nas, Cam'ron, Rick Ross and of course her Young Money cohorts Lil Wayne and Drake.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
