Machine Gun Kelly is having a good run. In 2011 the Bad Boy rapper earned the title of MTV News' Hottest Breakthrough MC, in 2012 he covered XXL's Freshman Class issue and this past week he picked up the Breaking Woodie trophy at the 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards. Sky's the limit kids.

Just a few days before the Woodie Awards, MGK told MTV News that he'd put his mind to winning the award ("I'm just trying to speak [this award] into existence, and if I win it, my speech is going to be hilarious") and it seems like all of that concentration worked out.

After performing at the first-ever Woodies Festival, Machine Gun Kelly took home the Breaking Woodie award, just as he'd hoped, and he was extremely gracious to his fans who were responsible for the win.

"Critics don't mean anything. The fact that Machine Gun Kelly isn't critically acclaimed and we just go against the grain, this just proves everything that I've been preaching since day one to be true," MGK told Buzzworthy. "So to all the fans out there who took the time to vote over and over again 'til your fingers got carpal tunnel, thank you! Thank you dude. You have made my year. Lace up!"

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
