After months of half-joking, half-serious back-and-forths between celebrities well known for their association with the "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" franchises, "Trek" icon George Takei has called for peace between the two fan bases in favor of war against another: the "Twilight" series. Takei, who played Sulu in the original "Trek" series, posted a three-minute video calling the values of "Twilight" into question, while championing the ideas put forth by both "Star" brands. No, not [i]that[/i] holiday special, we're not going to ruin your day like that. Very cool project for the whole nerdy family!

[b]"Rise" of the Graffiti[/b]
More cool art to enjoy today, but for a very different science fiction franchise. The [url="http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2011/12/12/rise-of-the-apes-mural-melrose-avenue-gets-guerilla-art/"]Los Angeles Times[/url] points out some amazing "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" graffiti art seen in the City of Angels. Australian artist Anthony Lister was reportedly hired by 20th Century Fox to create the "Apes"-minded mural on Melrose Avenue, and perhaps for the very first time in my entire life, I'm going to mutter these words: I wish I was in LA right now.

[b]"Walking" Shirt[/b]
Finally, forwarded my way from Twitter user [url="http://twitter.com/curtisblack72/"]@curtisblack72[/url] comes [url="http://www.redbubble.com/people/curtisblack72/works/8199010-daryl-dixon-the-walking-dead"]this incredibly awesome "Walking Dead" T-shirt[/url] starring Norman Reedus' impossibly awesome Daryl Dixon. "Got bit. Fever hit. World gone to s---. Might as well quit," reads the shirt, calling back to the famous tree-hanging zombie from earlier this season. Not sure that I'll take the plunge myself, but if any of you fine folks out there want to get me this as a holiday gift, well, I wouldn't complain!
