maybe being from the midwest had something to do with it, but one of my favorite albums from the 70's was "night moves" bob seger has one of the best voices I've heard in rock n roll, and greatly overlooked. no hidden messages, but often poetic verses, plus good solid guitar, epitomized the sound we loved so well back then. I was glad to see he was inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame.

beautiful loser and fire lake are good, oldtime r&r, kathmandu, turn the page, fire down below, r&r never forgets are all horribly overplayed and i learned to loathe them as a young lad

"classic rock" stations at work ruined many a halfway decent song for me

Bob Seger's music definitely has the power, grace and smoothness that people come to expect from good musicians. Shame I don't see that in many of todays musicians. Sorry if I offend all you rockers, but today's rock doesn't have the "knack" it used to have as music has become way too commercial and packaged, thanks to the greed of the RIAA. Independent artists are the way to go.

ROCK ON :)

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
