Two of the hardest workers in electronic music, Zeds Dead's tireless efforts have earned them an excellent reputation amongst a new generation of producers as artists without borders - genres hold no bearing over their music as they transcend style and form with ease. By pulling from a vast array of source material (Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Sublime), and molding it into their unique brand of dance-floor classics, They have established themselves as a dominant force in EDM circles and have received recognition and praise from tastemakers worldwide. With a stockpile of originals and remixes set to be released in 2011, DC and Hooks show no signs of slowing down.

**MAT THE ALIEN**
Whistler, Canada // Really Good

Let’s clear something up. Technically Mat is not an Alien. He grew up not too far from Manchester (u.k.) and moved to Canada in the mid 90’s to follow his snowboarding addiction which he stumbled upon during a trip to Austria. He has been dj’ing since 1988 and was inspired to play the drums by local bands such as (The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays) after being introduced to the d.j. culture of the... acid house warehouse party’s he was hooked on blending beat’s on the turntables. He further developed his style while working in his family’s record store(opened by his dad at age 4. Mats music selection appeals to a wide variety of crowds, spanning many genres from Hip-Hop,Glitch Hop,Dubstep,funk,dance-hall,breakbeats,electro,drum & bass, rock, and more. He learned this from dj’ing in Whistler to varied crowds of people visiting from all over the world. His style has been described by Knowledge Magazine as, “Awe inspiring & Some next level shit.”

**RADAR**
Phoenix // Furious Styles Crew, Versatile Djs
www.djradar.com
www.facebook.com/djradar#!/pages/DJ-Radar/6290763402

DJ Radar is at the forefront of this revolutionary incorporation. Serving as the focal point and the momentum, he uses his training, knowledge and turntable expertise to complement classical music and progression.

DJ Radar refuses to adhere to artificial musical boundaries and is constantly searching for fresh and innovative ways to blur the lines between genres while bringing his music across the globe with tours in North America, Europe and Japan.

Through his constant search to take his art to the next level DJ Radar has collaborated with Raul Yanez to create an experimentally imaginative musical composition. In addition to their pioneering efforts with the Concerto for Turntable, Radar is the creative force behind "scratch notation."

This system, the first of its kind, documents all of the scratching techniques that can be performed on a turntable and translates them into Western musical notation. This set of symbols, called articulations, maps out a DJ's hand position for each note in a musical score. From Raul and Radar's work, this notation will help validate the turntable as a legitimate musical instrument.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
