Ray J Drops New Track With Boxer Victor Ortiz

Singer and reality show veteran Ray J has found himself under an unflattering spotlight of late after a scuffle with rapper Fabolous inspired an angry radio tirade. During the interview Ray J threatened Fab with acts of violence after the pair squared off after the Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz bout in Las Vegas. Although the dustup between Fab and Ray J was dialed down by rapper 50 Cent, Fab ahs continued his war of words with Ray J and the singer eventually apologized for his rant to his fans.

Curiously, a new track has surfaced by way of gossip site TMZ featuring Ray J alongside vanquished Mayweather foe Victor Ortiz produced by DJ and producer Ian Carey and the Maryland native provided the pair with an upbeat number complete with Auto Tune laced vocals.

This isn’t the first foray into rap for the boxer, releasing a single “Catwalk” under his Mr. Ortiz alias earlier this spring. As for Ortiz and his latest turn, the club-friendly track renders Ortiz’s voice much deeper than how it sounds when he speaks; Ray J’s hushed vocals are buried under Carey’s thumping backing track.

Still, the collaboration is indeed a strange one with Ray J being closely aligned with Team Mayweather. 50 Cent’s downplaying of the incident and staying neutral in the feud also raised a few eyebrows.

Ray J and Victor Ortiz and their respective camps have yet to address the song and there isn’t any indication as to when the song was actually recorded.

Could a Floyd Mayweather and Fabolous track be looming on the horizon?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
