Pink's rock opera, Kanye's Jesus bling

While we've never really thought every generation needed a Pete Townshend, it looks like Pink is volunteering to fill that role for the Generation Z set. Having graduated from dance diva to Rancid-lovin' rock chick, the artist formerly known as Alecia Moore has her heart set on penning the next great rock opera. Pink tells the Sydney Morning Herald that she's always been a huge fan of fat ladies singing and that she's hard at work on a piece that would fold old-school arias into modern rock. "I just started kinda writing one but it's just really hard," the Wagner wannabe says. "A lot of people have done it and it really sucked, and I don't want to do a rock opera and have it suck." Since we're fairly certain she'll throw in something involving a woman in a breastplate walking a goat, we've got high hopes, indeed . . .

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
