I havent heard much of this guy though I've known about him for years. Anybody got any recommendations? The only thing I have by him is Live in Japan (1977).

"Roy Buchanan was a guitarist's guitarist. He was an innovative and soulful musician whose piercing tone and brilliant technique could hold an audience spellbound. His guitar screamed and cried and raged while he appeared unmoved. He was a shy, introverted, enigmatic man who avoided the spotlight as much as he could. He was a journeyman genius, and he is still too little known."

I would get the first album, Roy Buchanan * Roy Buchanon. Best known as a blues/rock guitar player, who could play his axe like Paginini. Incidentally, he turned down the Rolling Stones when Mick Taylor left the band. In many ways, he's much like the authentic blues players: he played local clubs, didn;t care for the headline act stuff. Arguably, he was as good as Clapton, Ry Cooder, Jimmy Page, etc, in his heydey. That said, I sense his bst stuff hasnt been recorded...

Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
