Beyoncé: "Naughty Girl"

Pitchfork Media:  Don't stop the train, there are still jams to plunder from the first half ofDangerously in Love! Over a vaguely Eastern-tinged, simmer-clap burn, the most beautiful specimen of our generation tells me, "Tonight, I'll be your naughty girl, I'm callin' all my girls." She whispers in the verse that she wants to hear me say her name. She wants to know if I can feel her burning flame; that she doesn't know what's gotten into her. The violin shrieks, tense with anticipatory joy, rigid and anxious with every breathy promise the chanteuse wrapped in skin-tight innuendo makes. Predictably, after all the ticker tape parades celebrating this performer have passed by, the afterparty delivers the realest fantasy seduction. In clear homage to Donna Summer's 1975 smash, she teases, "I love to love you," and more than ever...

I believe every word. [Dominique Leone; April 8th, 2004]

Havent heard the music, but I'm a believer too...

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
