Gerard Butler Is 'The Bricklayer,' Seth Rogen Drafted By 'The League'

[url="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/gerard-butler-star-fbi-thriller-220434"][i]The Hollywood Reporter[/i][/url] has the news that the "Law Abiding Citizen" star has been brought on board to play former FBI agent Noah Boyd in the book adaptation. Boyd is working as a Chicago bricklayer when he is called in to stop a criminal organization demanding multimillion-dollar ransom payments. "Enigma" scribe Hanna Weg is writing the screenplay.

[b]Brit Marling Potentially One Of "The Company You Keep"[/b]
"Another Earth" star [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/367647/personmain.jhtml"]Brit Marling[/url] is circling Robert Redford's latest movie "The Company You Keep," [url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118041052"][i]Variety[/i][/url] is reporting. The flick is an adaptation of the Neil Gordon novel of the same name, and is being adapted by Lem Dobbs. Redford is directing and starring in the movie alongside Shia LaBeouf.

[b]Tyler Posey Gets A "Taco Shop"[/b]
[url="http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118041056"][i]Variety[/i][/url] has the scoop that "Teen Wolf" star [url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/483955/personmain.jhtml"]Tyler Posey[/url] is going to be starring in the indie comedy, "Taco Shop." He stars as a man who leaves his job at a taco joint to open his own, but ends up finding himself in the middle of a taco war when a gourmet taco truck parks itself across the street. Joaquin Perea is directing the flick, and Carlos Alazraqui, Eric Roberts, Felipe Esparza, Laura Harring, Paula Jai Parker, and Parvesh Cheena round out the cast.

[b]Seth Rogen To Guest On "The League"[/b]
[url="http://www.mtv.com/movies/person/262582/personmain.jhtml"]Seth Rogen[/url] is returning to his television roots to make a guest appearance on FX's comedy, "The League." [url="http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/08/seth_rogen_is_guesting_on_the.html"][i]Vulture[/i][/url] is reporting that he will be playing Dirty Randy, a friend of Jason Mantzoukas' character, in the upcoming third season. So far there's no word yet on when Rogen's episode will air.

[b]Stars Flock To "Sesame Street"[/b]
PBS's "Sesame Street" is bringing in the celebrities for its 42nd season, which kicks off September 26. [url="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/nicole-kidman-mark-ruffalo-mila-220394"][i]The Hollywood Reporter[/i][/url] has learned Emma Stone, Andy Samberg, Seth Rogen, Robin Williams, Amy Adams, Nicole Kidman, Mark Ruffalo, Mila Kunis and Sofia Vergara will all be appearing, among others. We can only imagine the types of skits these talents will have on the children's show.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
