CHOIR OF 50 YEARS SCOUTS INVITES

09:30 - 10 April 2004

Derbyshire Constabulary Male Voice Choir is offering its services for charity concerts during its next season, from October this year to the end of April next year.

The choir performs a varied programme of male voice singing, including choir, solo and comedy pieces.

There is also an emphasis on audience participation.

The choir does not charge for concerts, so all the ticket sales revenue and peripheral fund-raising activities goes straight to the charity.

Those offered a concert just have to arrange a venue and ticket sales.

Spokesman Rod Moore said: "The choir has been performing throughout Derbyshire and neighbouring counties for nearly fifty years and gets twice as many requests for the twenty or so concerts we do each year."

Applications for a concert should be by letter to Len Briddon, 17 Langford Road, Mickleover, Derby DE3 0PD by May 30. Decisions will be made in June.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
