Happy Friday night everyone. Here's a gem from the past to cheer up your evening.

RoboCop is a 1987 science fiction film directed by Paul Verhoeven. Set in a crime-ridden Detroit, Michigan in the near future, RoboCop centers on a police officer who is brutally murdered and subsequently re-created as a super-human cyborg, otherwise known as "RoboCop". RoboCop explores larger themes regarding the media, gentrification and human nature in addition to being a big budget action film. It has spawned merchandise, two sequels, four television series and two comic book adaptations. - Wikipedia

The film features Peter Weller, Dan O'Herlihy, Kurtwood Smith, Nancy Allen, Miguel Ferrer and Ronny Cox. It was written by Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner, who are both friend of mine. I worked at Orion when this film was released. The film is brought to you courtesy of Hulu.com. Enjoy!

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
