It's a big college football weekend for those of us in the USA, so I will likely be tied to the tube on Saturday. Other than that, I will be hitting some tennis balls and probably writing away on the keyboards.

How about everyone else?

I'm gonna sit around and act like I have a broke leg this weekend and rub the dogs. I'll steal a few million (RIAA math) in tunes off the internet. Then I'm gonna ask the wifey if she wants to play hide-the-weenie. She won't.

In other words it will be a carbon copy of last weekend.

Celebrating getting a place on a high profile secondment. :dancer7:

It is only a 10 week placement, but if I do well my name will be in shining in neon lights for senior managers.

I just need to fill out a 32 page security clearance document...

"131) Name every person you have accidentally brushed shoulders with at busy train stations. List them in order of their passport number and attach details of their political affiliations."

Pretty much Dude. At least as much as you can modernise a supply chain. More like cost cutting.

What did you need security clearance for? From your current job and your age, I'm guessing it had something to do with editing the moon landing script? :p

 I was the Nationally selected intern during my first year in Grad School at the USIA, which is the media division of the State Department. USIA film and tv programs are forbidden to be shown in the US. During the 60s, which was before my time, they were quite progressive, particularly on the documentary front.

Congrats, again! :beer1:

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
