Green River is a song that was written by John Fogerty and it's the title track of their #1 album with the same name.

The album Green River (1969) was their 3rd album and was their first album to hit #1 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. Their 5th album, Cosmo's Factory also hit #1 the next year.

John Fogerty wrote every song on the album except the last track on side 2, "The Night Time Is The Right Time".

My dad had this album and I think it was the one that introduced me to the band. Always liked "Green River."

I am way older. I introduced myself to their music. I would listen to them on the car radio as I was driving down to the Social Security office to check on my retirement benefits.

I actually bought some of their albums. I guess I have them all (except compilations) in one lossless format or the other.

They had 2 albums that made it to number 1 on the albums chart but they never had a single make it to number 1 on the singles chart. Several songs made it to number 2.
