On March 20 2004 Blu Monkey Magazine held a phone interview with one of the most courageous, conscious, passionate, R&B Groups of all times, 1487. These guys are built on a whirlwind of dreams, love, and a submission to solidarity. 1487 reminded Blu Monkey Magazine that they make music for one reason- for one reason only, and that reason is to spread love to all those who fear love and may perhaps die from the lack of it. Through their music, they sing out for all those in struggle.

The group stated, there are a lot of people out there who will never hear their music for many sad reasons- those to are the people who are close to their hearts. 1487 sends an echo across the globe. Stop imperialism…stop un-ethical Globalization, racism and war.

It is exactly one year today that the US administration sent our Soldiers off to an unjustifiable war. In harmony we sing out- bring our troops home. We bless every soldier-every civilian and every animal that has vanished from the earth during the Iraq invasion.

1487 urges "lovers" to purchase their "IF YOU LET ME" CD. 50 % of the money goes toward the promotion of solidarity, and the protection of our Echo-system and endangered species.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
