Johnnie Taylor was known as "The Philosopher of Soul". This song was recorded for Stax Records with the label's house band, Booker T. & the MGs. - it reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the R&B chart in 1968.

Nice vid, Dude. I have quite a few of his albums (downloaded) including that one. That was a big hit for him.

Disco Lady also did very well. Those were 2 of his biggest hits but he had several tunes to chart.

He was more an R & B guy than he was a disco singer. In his day, he was as popular as Al Green.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next.
