Need guidance to promote my composed beats.

Hi music lovers, I have recently finished composing a few beats of my own and need to make them available to a professionally managed music company. The problem is that I don’t know how to go about that. Are there any sources, techniques or any other ways to go about this in a better way?

Yes. Never try to shop them to an actual company. Chances are they'll never be listened to. Best bet for someone in your position is to secure yourself legally and try to hook up with an indie artist or group. Best way to do that? Hang around clubs, music stores, etc(My personal favorite is music schools) and try to meet people.

I think that the first step you should do is to gather a few friends of yours and test the beats on their ears…because they will be able to provide a judgment on your composition…and that too free of cost. The serious part about going on this would be getting to VmusicBook which can really help you to make it through this by giving you the necessary sources and plans to approach the management companies.

Get them in your car and just play the beats but don't say who they're by. And Matina - I would disagree. Trying to go through any "official" music industry connection line never works. The best bet to get your foot in the door is through independent work.

It depends on who it is

Well of course. If you've got the right connections - then by all means go through them. But I'm operating from the idea that you're a random inspire trying to make it big.

And you are probably right.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
