Low credit score. Need help...

Chase Bank withdrew the entire outstanding payment from our account over a span of 5 months, and now we're on the verge of losing the small house of our dreams. It might not be large, but they've lowered our credit score to under 600, leading to a recent rejection. This was our sole chance to secure that cozy home, and we were completely unaware of these actions. All we've been receiving are these unsettling texts and emails. How to fix this?

First and foremost, it's important to contact Chase Bank to get a clear understanding of why they've stopped payments and to discuss possible solutions. To address this issue, here are some steps you can take:

As soon as possible, contact their customer service department. Explain the situation and ask why they stopped paying and how it affects your credit. They should be able to provide specific account information. Be sure to document your concerns and ask for a review of your account history if you believe there were errors in the withdrawals or if you were unaware of these actions. This is important so that you have a full understanding of the situation and can correct any inaccuracies.

Depending on your circumstances, you may want to consult with a financial adviser or lawyer specializing in banking and consumer law like this one: https://consumerattorneys.com/practice-area/credit-reporting-errors. They can help you decide how best to proceed and how to protect your interests. You may want to consider working to repair your credit score since it has been negatively affected. You can do this by paying your bills on time, paying down any debts you owe, and budgeting responsibly.

While you're addressing this issue, it may also be worthwhile to explore alternative housing options in case it becomes impossible to secure the home of your dreams due to the damage to your credit score.

Hi, I completely agree with William about the financial professional. The experience of an attorney is very important in these cases because you can't always get through to the credit bureau or get justice on your own. I support the last comment one hundred percent. Good luck with this case!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
