Wassup For the 2/29/08 Leap Year Weekend

Recommended Posts

The weather has been pretty good lately - it was in the 70s for most of the week during the day, so I am going to get some tennis in. Other than that, I am doing some research for some writing I have to do.

Baseball season has begun  ...first practice today with the 11 & 12 year old division Braves team. My legs are already sore after one practice, and I have to do it again tomorrow and Monday.

(The back soreness from hitting long fly balls to the outfielders will hit me in the morning.. )

You could ask Bobby Bonds, Mark McGuire or Mr. Clemens for some advice on that problem, Koop

I think Babe Ruth had the best training routine...a gallon of beer and about a dozen hot dogs a day. Keeps a man strong and happy.

Makes Redneck a little...edgy...when so many liberals gather in one spot on a voting Tuesday. :mad3:

I'll prolly need to clean the guns again next weekend but I will spend less time doing an inventory of the ammo.

Actually, the elections don't interest me this primary. I already know the outcome. A turd will win. The Republicans have only one turd so there is no contest. The Democrats still have to decide which one of two turds they want. As usual the Democrats have twice as many turds from which to choose. The choices are so bad that I would vote for Jimmy Carter if he were running. He has a proven track record as the second worst president of all time, coming in behind only slick willy. At least Jimmy had some semblance of dignity in spite of his brother.

I wish I could vote for Jefferson Davis again like I did back in the day....

So...you still think that our forty-turd President is another Lincoln or Truman, as they like to suggest...

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
