Maxing your groove is what Friday nights are all about. And doing it in style is what Supergroove has down to its final funk filled beat - global house and electro DJs and producers with a twist of glamour and a hint of filth, shaken and stirred within the warm walls of Brixton’s hidden gem, Babalou. A cocktail as heady as those served at the bar!

Supergroove on Friday March 21st brings the chart topping, globe trotting, thrill making production duo Herd and Fitz to the appropriately splendid surroundings of South London’s intimate venue of choice, Babalou. Darlings, when the parties you’ve DJ’d at include the closing Dolce and Gabbana party at the Cannes Film festival and the Milan Fashion Week as well as clubs world wide from Pacha and Space, Ibiza, The Ministry of Sound, Redlight, Paris, the Creamfields festival, tours of Singapore, Bali and Australia plus being residents for Subliminal Sessions UK and Gatecrasher, you know your funked up beats must be stroking people’s groove to a peak!

Supported by the likes of Eric Morrillo and Pete Tong, Herd&Fitz productions, from vocal house to slammin’ electro, have been released on Industy’s top labels including Ministry of Sound, Data, Mercury, East West, AATW and Toolroom Records. With a mix compilation for Subliminal due for release, remixes including those for Robbie Rivera, Barbara Tucker and Evelyn Champagne King and with a Top 10 Chart success in the UK with the Ibizan smash, “I Just Can’t Get Enough”, the guys who have rocked nights across the world alongside Harry Choo Choo Romero, Angello & Ingrossa, David Morales, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine and Mark Knight to name a few are now, with heady excitement, bringing their package of musical love to London’s Friday night music escape, Supergroove!

The double trouble, double pleasure theme eases through the night with Supergroove residents, Stretch First. Having played alongside the likes of Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, 2ManyDJs and Kosheen at nights including TDK Cross Central Festival and The End, the Stretch First boys are keen to show you their moves (as long as you show them yours). I believe the Coccyx Press is a favourite…

With further guests on the night, a welcoming vibe and all suitcases left at the door, let Supergroove restore your weekend shine.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
