Best Apple Watch deal

Why we like it

There's a reason we named the Apple Watch Series 8 our favorite smartwatch overall. It's one of the best wearables you can get. It can do just about everything, for starters, like help you make and take calls, text, check the weather — whatever you need to get done. Plus, it boasts ECG tracking, a temperature sensor, and a fall detection feature that uses a built-in gyroscope and accelerometer. It also comes with the same great features its predecessor offers, with a crisp, bright screen and plenty of ways to multitask and get tasks done right from your wrist. And at $70 off, it's well worth the entry price this Memorial Day.

Best carpet cleaner deal

Why we like it

The Bissell Little Green Portable Carpet Cleaner is a portable upholstery and carpet cleaner that you can use to scrub away dirt and stains. Perfect for pet owners, it can power through muddy paw prints, pet messes, and more. It has a 48-ounce tank to help you clean longer between refills as well as a three-inch Tough Stain Tool included to help get out some of those larger, more stubborn messes. Just pick it up and take it with you wherever you need it, including car interiors, carpets, stairs, and other flooring.

BEST VACUUM DEAL

Why we like it

The Dyson Ball Multi-Floor Upright Vacuum is the vacuum you need to break out when the floor is really dirty. It has a self-adjusting cleaning head that can automatically swap between carpets and hard floors. Its shorter and stiffer brush bristles make for deeper carpet cleaning, while its wand and hose can help you clean difficult-to-reach areas. Its whole-machine HEPA filtration ensures you breathe easier after every vacuuming job, and when you're done, you can empty the entire bin without having to touch any of the gross things you've been sucking up out of the floor.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
