any unsigned bands out there?

Recommended Posts

Nowadays it seems like the only good music circulating is what you can find on your own (thanks to themz interwebs!). Even Myspace has an incredible selection of music thanks to its' user-friendly free music uploading for everyone to hear...the radio heads must be reeling over this. Does anyone even listen to mainstream music anymore? Some of it is good, but leave it to the radio stations to play the heck outta all of the good music leaving us wanting something different - jeez even something else off their record!

Well, the team at Alpine (yep, the car audio guys) has started a contest to help sign the much less exposed indie and unsigned bands who really deserve the recognition. Alpine is currently giving away up to $18,000 in prizes including a car audio system hookup for the band who wins! If you're interested and are in a band or know a band that really deserves some time in the greenlight, head over to...

... and sign up your band, upload some songs and band art/shots, and get your fans to vote! You know who really deserves the exposure - there's so many more bands out there that can take off, they just need a little coverage. I'm working with Alpine to help these bands get that lift they need, so check out that site and let me know what you think!

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
