Quantic flies into Cargo for his exclusive London residency, serving another hot ladel full of spicy Colombian Soup. Joining Mr Holland in his heady broth is NYC's Pimps of Joytime, signed to Nickodemus' Wonderwheel Recordings, this trio offer up latin soul with a massive wodge of funk thrown on top of it, slowly melting into the El Mondongo and adding a creamy after taste to the soup. Grubs up!

NYC Native Brian J returned in 2004 after a stint in California to leave his legend as The Pimps of Joytime. The three years between then and now have resulted in High Steppin, an exceptional blend of so many qualities of the city that it's challenging to know where to even begin. With a collection of superb guests, including percussionist/vocalist Cyril Neville and Radio Mundial frontman Jean Shepherd, The Pimps of Joytime are selling some serious soul. Each second of these sixty-two minutes drips and bleeds with such enthusiasm and passion that it's impossible not to get pulled into the dance. After you emerge for the first time, it will be you that sends yourself, again and again, into its grip.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
