Dan the Automator/Prince Paul project to release album in summer

The project, consisting of Dan the Automator (Deltron 3030, The Gorillaz) and Prince Paul (De La Soul, The Gravediggaz) will start by making a rare public appearance during South-by-Southwest opening for N.E.R.D., while the follow-up to 1999's "So... How's Your Girl?" will drop sometime in the summer.

The live appearance will include on-stage support from Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw, Head Automatica), Casual, and Encore, while the album itself will include such eclectic luminaries as Pharrell Williams (NERD, The Neptunes), RZA (Wu-Tang), Musiq, Jack Johnson, the Deftones, and Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle).

1999's "So... How's Your Girl?" is considered by many people as hip-hop's most accomplished album, offering elements of funk, trip-hop, and R&B on an album that drew from a talent pool that consisted of DJ Shadow, Mike D (Beastie Boys), Money Mark, Sean Lennon, Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto, Dave of De La Soul, Del the Funkee Homosapien, Kid Koala, and many, many more.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
