How to download videos with File2HD.com

September 2nd, 2007 by aniscartujo

This article will explain in detail how to download videos using File2HD.com

Example (Youtube.com)

1) Find the video (Theoretically on any site)

Ex.: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9Yx64yGjOz0

Copy the link to the clipboard

2) Go to File2HD.com and paste the link on the URL field

3) Set the filter to Movies

4) Click Get Files…

5)You will get only one movie, right click the URL and select Save As… (Type: movie.flv)

That’s all… the download will start and the the file will be saved on your local hard drive

As File2HD.com works for any site, you also can download videos from many other sites…

We tested the following sites:

http://uncutvideos.aol.com

http://www.blip.tv

http://www.youtube.com

http://www.attachmax.com

http://www.ifilm.com

http://www.metacafe.com

http://www.ebaumsworld.com

http://www.zippyvideos.com/

http://www.veoh.com/

http://www.myspace.com

http://www.flurl.com/

http://video.google.com/

As said before File2HD.com should work theoretically for any site or any kind of file…

Wich files will not find File2HD.com?

- Some files that are hidden inside the HTML code

- Some files that are hidden inside flash code inside the HTML page

- Some files that are hidden inside of javascripts…

You should only access sites/download files that you hold all the copyrights, please read carefully the site “Terms of Use” before use the site.

All the information on this article is for educational use, we did not access any of the sites mentioned on this article.

Here is another site you might want to try Zamzar. - simply add the url where asked and then the conversion you want, and the nice Zamzar folks will send it to you by email :)

Here are some other nifty tools: for superior search apps - try IckStuff or Google Hacks.

And last but not least, FreeMusicZilla will allow you to download any streaming media from the social websites (Windows only).

You will find other helpful tools HERE.

There's a news story on the CBS news website I'm trying to download (strictly for personal use.) I tired file2hd but was unsuccessful. The web url is:

http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=515...ain;contentBody.

Any idea how I can grab this vid file? If not file2hd then perhaps another program?

You can use Zamzar

There's another firefox extension called download helper that will grab-->convert-->save any embedded video you come across. If you hate ending up with some video extension like mlk you can get the finished video in whatever format you prefer.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
