College is a bloody mess in trailer for 'The Boys' spin-off 'Gen V'

A close up of a Black woman in long locs. She looks surprised and her face dripping in blood.

The trailer for Gen V, the highly-anticipated spin-off from Amazon Prime's smash hit series The Boys, is here. And it's bloody as hell.

The trailer opens on Vought International's Godolkin University School of Crimefighting as a disembodied voice promises that the school is "a safe space for you to thrive.” Then the camera pans down a corridor where the word "murderer" has been smeared in red spray paint over a doorway. I guess safety is relative in these hallowed halls.

Gen V promises to follow "the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test" competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It joins animated spinoff The Boys Presents: Diabolical and web series Seven on 7 as the latest expansion of the show's universe.

The show stars Patrick Schwarzenegger as Golden Boy, Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity, and Marco Pigossi as Doctor Edison Cardosa. Jaz Sinclair ("The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"), Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann round out the cast, with The Boys stars including Colby Minifie and Jessie T. Usher also appearing.

Gen V will premiere sometime in 2023, with a specific release date yet to be announced.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
