Amy Winehouse Collapses After 'Drugs Overdose'

amywinehouse.jpgAmy Winehouse collapsed in the early hours of yesterday morning, amid fears she had a drug overdose.

The singer was rushed into the London University College hospital by her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and a friend in a ‘semi-conscious’ state.

Reports claim that when she reached the reception her legs buckled beneath her and she fell to the floor at approximately 1am. She was then rushed into A & E for emergency treatment.

Once she was inside, Winehouse was given a shot of adrenaline and had her stomach pumped to revive her.

Her label Island Records has claimed that she was suffering from “severe exhaustion”, but today’s Sun is refuting these claims alleging that she had a “huge drug overdose.”

The star spent yesterday in hospital being watched by doctors. Her husband and parents were amongst those who visited her inside. She was eventually discharged late last night.

That's a shame. She's not only talented, but she is a rock star, in the best sense of the word. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for her..

For some reason, the junkie singers I know about - Janis Joplin, Rickie Lee Jones, Amy.. are all talented. I think when you are trying to bury that much pain, it comes out creatively in droves

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
