Ecobee3 Lite smart thermostat

SAVE $30: As of June 28, the Ecobee3 Lite smart thermostat is $30 off the original price as an early Prime Day deal — grab one for just $149.

It's hot as hell out. And not even the fun kind of summer heat that feels like you're on a tropical vacation. No, this is like the "oh my god, I'm sweating from everywhere. Why are my knees sweating? I do not usually sweat from there" kind of heat.

Let's distract ourselves by shopping for something to beat the heat (our favorite coping mechanism). The Ecobee3 Lite smart thermostat is a good place to start, and it's $30 off as an early Prime Day deal — just $149.

The Ecobee3 Lite comes with everything you need for installation, and most Amazon reviewers claim that it isn't much of a chore to get it set up. Because the Ecobee3 Lite is a "smart" thermostat, you can pair it with other Bluetooth-enabled devices to control it remotely, whether that's from your smartphone or smart speaker. It also has a built-in sensor to help manage hot and cold spots in your home, pauses automatically when doors and windows are open, and could potentially end up saving you money in energy costs.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
